New Name
We have decided to rename our wee tinnie. This is no mean feat but it's current name really isn't up to it, "Sea Boy". Firstly boats are meant to be female, and secondly it's a crap name...
Changing the boat's name will be quite a drama depending on how serious we decide to get. At the top of the scale we would need to convince a 'fair maiden' to urinate on the stringers (the inside of the hull). At the least we would have to remove the boat from the water, pour perfectly good champagne all over it, say a few words about how wonderful the boat has been, remove all traces of the old name (including any objects that may have the boat's old name written on them), put new name on the boat and then waste more perfectly good champagne in a christening ceremony. I gather it's basically putting the old boat to rest and then christening a 'new' boat with the new name. After the ceremony you have to be really careful never to mention the old name, for risk of confusing the boat and sentencing everyone on board to certain death... or at the least catching no fish...
So now that we've decided to go through with all of this we need to agree on a new name. The new name needs to reflect how cool our boat is, needs to take the mickey out of people naming their boats, can't provoke King Neptune, and needs to be suitable for calling in to the coastguard. We had thought of calling her "boat", but this could get dangerous if we ever needed to call the coastguard in an emergency:
"PAN, PAN! This is Boat calling Coastguard. We have 2 onboard and are taking on water"
(can you tell I've been swotting up on VHF radio speak? ;-)
So all that said and done, we need to decide on a name. So far the contenders are:
"Theckno" and "Hi - Theck"
Any more suggestions will be greatly received :-)
"Flash Out"

Uh huh.... ok then.
Todd says keep trying (not saying they're crap or anything ;-)
We had also thought of "Jedi-Dumbass". Not really nautical but I like it anyway.
